[ale] interesting yet annoying problem

Installing wicd does not uninstall Network Manager, but has been well worth
the effort in my experience.

once wicd is installed, remove NetworkManager:  Restart.  Network
silliness is all gone.

Fedora users, sorry, wicd and Fedora do not play well together (but they
do work).
