well, even after starting over with a FRESH disk , no partitions, creating a 
partition & installing windows XP, I tried the Fed 12 CD again, and it still 
shows the same thing, no partitions.. I'm sure I've put fedora on that drive 
before, this must be something new.. or my disk is going bad to the point 
where it may be dying:) it is a 4-year old laptop that has been around the 
block ... at least I was able to restore my XP & quickbooks for tax purposes!
