[ale] lvm for ubuntu install?

Thanks.
It's looking like the installer will only let me create volume groups
containing a single physical/logical volume. Is that right? Do I have to use
the lvm commands to get multiple LVs in a VG?
What I'm aiming for flexibility: I want to keep data on separate partitions
from the OS files and I want to be able to move free space between the
partitions as needed. So the layout I want is something like this:
sda1: /boot ext2
VG1:
sda2: PV1 spans entire partition
LV1: / ext4
LV2: /home ext4
LV3: /srv ext4
LV4: swap (sensible?)
Any/all wisdom is much appreciated.

I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand.
