U-verse has been working well here for a few months.  Comcast was dumped 
today.

One "master" box w/ internal disk drive is DVR; second box is diskless 
"slave."  Both can play back recorded programs; only the master can 
manage recordings.  Process is also Web-accessible. 

User interface better than MythTV's IMHO; picture quality plenty good.  
Far less pixeling and freezing than Comcast *analog* service.

Internet fine; my house LAN is behind my own Linksys WAP/router while 
the TV boxes are between it and the AT&T router. Feel 
baited-and-switched w.r.t. static IP.
