Greetings
I don't know why there aren't lots of pertinent questions online. My WAP is the DHCP server for machines configured non-statically. I assume for an NFS shared directory I have to have the client machines featured in, like, hosts, hosts.allow, and stuff like that there. But I don't know how to do that with their IP addresses and can think only of changing entries after being told by the modem.
I thought DNSmasq was the right direction, but succeeded with the notebook without it by making static the "server's" IP addr, (but I want to keep dynamic assignment if possible.) Also I think this time around I didn't completely strip out all security precautions; I changed in the YaST firewall [thank God the lightning has passed,] allowing NFSclient, NFServer, [PCV-valve], Secure Shell Server, and VNC server, all of which weren't originally afaik. Com permisio, one more amateur question: Uh Is there much of a wall between my root xterm and the ether? Thank you.
Especially if that helps
Glenn
