Depending on your distro you may want to look at lesstif instead of
OpenMotif if all you need is libraries.   Some distros (including
Fedora) won't ship OpenMotif because it doesn't use the GNU license.

Did you check to see what files were in the packages you installed? I
downloaded one and saw libXm.so.4, not libXm.so.3. I think you're
looking for an older version
