[ale] looking for a truly Linux friendly camcorder

My Sanyo is Linux Friendly. It's ~3 years old the Xacti HD1A which
records 720p. http://en.ca.sanyo.com/Digital-Camcorders/HD1A-Digital-CameraCorder
The impressive thing about it is the f/3.5 aperture and 1/2.5 inch
CCD. The bad thing about this specific model is that the zoom
"breathes" constantly. They improved that and the low light fidelity
in later revisions like the HD2. But ultimately it has been a great
camera. The files come straight off of it and MythTV loves them. Even
3 years ago.
