[ale] two sata drives fail at the same time?

where the drives on the same controller?  I have seen when 1 drive goes bad the controller thinks another drive on the controller is bad when it truly isnt.  I would plug in the drives one by one in another computer to see if they come to life.

If they dont, then the probability is a bad component that they share like a PS (someone else mentioned this) is what caused them to fail.
