Ok, new one here...

A friend is trying to set up a subdomain "channel.company.com" which
will be delegated
to someone else's dns servers. Regular dns for his domain is working
fine but when
we try to do a nslookup on the subdomain's name servers we get a message :
   server can't find channel.company.com: NXDOMAIN

The entries for the NS's are very straight forward:

;
; This is the DOTHILL.COM domain zone file
;
$TTL 86400
$ORIGIN company.com.
@                       IN      SOA     ns1.company.com.
hostmaster.company.com. (
                                         2009082621      ; Serial Number
                                         21600           ; Refresh every
6 hours
                                         3600            ; Retry every hour
                                         1728000         ; Expire every
20 days
                                         21600 )         ; Minimum 6 hours

                         IN      NS      ns1.company.com.
                         IN      NS      ns2.company.com.

                         IN      MX      10   mail.company.com.
;                       IN      MX      20   mail1.company.com.

                         IN      A       42.42.42.42

www                     IN      A       42.42.42.43

channel                 IN      NS      dns01.company-2.com.
channel                 IN      NS      dns02.company-2.com.

Everything loads right but digging and nslookups won't return the NS
entries.

Thoughts?

Robert
