They think they can because, sadly, often enough they can.  

Look at how the previous administration killed the M$ anti-trust case.

Holy crap.  I can't believe that companies think they can do such
things and succeed.  I would *totally* pay $99/mo for 10Mbps
synchronous.  By *itself*.
