Conflicts are still possible with CalDav, but it has a fairly simple  
conflict resolution process - the server wins. I've had a couple  
entries duplicated here and there, but that's about it.

As far as getting it running on Fedora, no clue, don't use Fedora. It  
compiles just fine on Debian though. Same for Evolution, no clue if it  
works there, as I used Thunderbird with the Lightning extension before  
I moved to MacOS
