Ouch.

NAS NFS for a DB?!  They don't require good performance I'm guessing.

RAC on Linux requires use of either OCFS2 (Oracle Cluster Filesystem) or
ASM (raw devices).  I'm not sure you could do either of those on NAS
NFS.   You CAN do them on the EMC Clariion over fibre (and possibly
iSCSI) because we are doing that (fibre) here.  If they haven't bought
the hardware yet they may wish to rethink it.

Heck, at one place I worked we had issues just getting some of the
Oracle E-Business middle tier to work on NetApp filers (NAS) because at
the time NFS didn't do well with file locking.  That was 6 years ago so
maybe things have changed but I'd want to see it working before I'd
invest in it.
