[ale] Linux-based building security / building automation / video surveillance

I was poking around a bit this afternoon and found "ZoneMinder" which is 
a video surveillance app for Linux.

I could not find any project for building access.  I would have a very 
hard time believing that none exists.  I found the COBA Group, but it's 
a closed source project. 

Does anyone know of a Linux-based building automation/security system ?

Also, has anyone done a commercial install with ZoneMinder ?  Running it 
at home?
