I have still been watching the levels fairly often.  I do see the
occasional positive news story now.

Current update:

Lanier hit the 4-ft mark above its low for the season (Dec. 26) this
morning (Mar. 15).  So about 15 ft from full pool now, and when it
rains Lanier is finally going up.  Not really true in Jan.  I guess
the ground was too dry then and just absorbed everything that fell.

All the other lakes in the apalachacola system have been at or above
target for the last 2 months.  Also Allatoona has had good levels for
the last 2 months and is a few feet above target currently.

An astounding amount of water has been poring into the Apalachacola
bay for the last couple months.
ie.
Nov avg discharge into the bay: 4587 cfs   (Equates to 2.9 billion
gallons a day.)
Feb avg discharge into the bay: 25206 cfs (Equates to 16.3 billion
gallons a day.)
    That should keep the mussels and sturgeon happy.
