I've seen the same thing. The first thing I usually do is to set up a
keystroke shortcut to bring up a terminal session. It seems that most of
the versions I've used don't have <ALT>+F12 used, so I always set that
up as the shortcut. That way, regardless of which box I'm using, if I
want a terminal, all I do is hit <ALT>+F12, and I have one right there.
No hunting.
