[ale] Anyone using Samsung ML-xxxx for unattended printing?

ALErs -

I have a Samsung ML-2010 printer hung on an FC-6 Linux box (due for
upgrade, but ...). I use the Samsung 'Unified Linux Driver v-2.00.90'.
Every time I start a print job the driver's GUI comes up and I have to
start the print job manually. This makes it impossible to print from a
remote console session or to share the printer.

My CUPS installation is the generic for my FC box:
  libgnomecups-0.1.12-5
  cups-1.1.22-0.rc1.8.9
  hal-cups-utils-0.5.2-8
  cups-libs-1.1.22-0.rc1.8.9

I have tried installing 'splix' from sources, but can't install it --
apparently due to changes of names for cups utilities between my 1.1.22
and the 1.1.23 that splix' INSTALL claims should work.

Does anyone have a work-around or different approach to printing on an
ML-2010 without manual intervention?

TIA.
  - Mills
