So here's the problem: Nvidia split their binary driver into three: 
nvidia, nvidia legacy 96, and nvidia legacy 71. You have nvidia 
isntalled, but your card is only supported by nvidia legacy 96. You need 
to remove your current driver and install this one using whatever 
Mandriva's procedure is.
