[ale] hardware to back up a Dell laptop

Courtney,

Do you have another machine you can access across a 100mb LAN?

If so, you can put a copy of your data there at no cost at a reasonable speed.

Or, you can buy a empty usb laptop drive carrier for about $10.  Then
you remove the current drive from you laptop and put it in the
carrier.  Then you can connect that to any PC you have and make a
backup.  Then when your done put the drive back in the laptop.

Or, a external USB drive is closer to $100

Or, I have a couple USB connected DVD writers and that works great,
but I don't remember what they cost.  Less than $100 I think.
