I can't argue with that. A lot,if not most, open source solutions are better in many ways than commercial solutions. Sometimes you pay somehting for in time rather than cash. Everybody has to determine what the best balance is for their needs.
I don't think I've ever seen free, open source cisco code, though.

Unfortunately, the company I work for is trained that Open Source is free.
The budget is tight because of all the new Cisco switches. So cost is an
issue.
