[ale] Simple printer default question

Getting more confused. I rebooted to make sure everything is stable.

Current status:

lpstat -d shows correct default printer and lpr prints to it

Yast shows correct default printer.  (OpenSuse 11.0)

open office and firefox default to the wrong printer.

Where else do I need to set the default?
