[ale] CRC problems with a new machine

Yes, the nic is integrated. I think it is merely a 100/10 card.
If I were to copy the file to the USB drive, and then back to the
machine, it would double the errors. The SATA bus uses the sata_nv
driver while the PATA bus uses the pata_amd driver. I can read files
from CDs and DVDs just fine. It is either the physical SATA bus that
is bad or the driver. Either way, I can't do anything about it other
than RMA the board. I emailed the LKML with my problem, but, as
expected, I got no response. I'm no driver writer, and I certainly
don't have time to learn how to become one right now.
I was just hoping someone here had encountered the problem before and
could make a suggestion other than RMA. But I ran out of time and
options. The last possible day for refund was yesterday.
