[ale] New Atlanta-based Tech Company

Hi Geoffrey,

Not exactly "outsourcing". I took AirSage's technical team from one
person (me, programming C++ on Linux in my bunny slippers), to a 40
person team. All 40 individuals were either AirSage employees, or
employees of an AirSage subsidiary that I created.

The product required CORBA expertise on C++. When I first started
hiring, I looked for talented people using Internet mailing lists
much like this one. As it happened, the first two qualified people I
found were in 1) Montreal, and 2) Valparaiso, Chile.

We got really good at developing the product in spite of our physical
separation (much like most open source projects do today), and both
locations established real offices and blossomed into productive
software teams. And what a great bunch of smart people -- they
taught me stuff I didn't know that I didn't know about Linux.

With Arcato Global, I'm hoping to repeat this success to benefit the
companies that hire us.

This being said, you will notice an emphasis on the web site for
"helping establish operations in Latin America". This is because the
Valparaiso experience was a particularly successful one -- and the
Chilean government chipped in $400,000 of R&D incentives. Hopefully
this is another experience that my fledgling company can repeat for
other companies.

But THIS being said, Arcato Global is an Atlanta-based company -- and
I'm certain I can't build this company without support from the local
community. Even at AirSage, I located the IT infrastructure here
(installed over 50 servers into Quality Technology up in Suwanee).
