I realize that this is pretty much off topic, but there are
some bright, apparently organized people here who may have
a clue or three I can borrow or outright steal. But first,
the triggering back story.

Daughter #2 got laid off two days ago, and has the pleasure
of hitting the job market. I get to edit the resume. So
far, there are three "organization" or "planning"
challenges showing up: getting text into her word processor
(Mac Word) such that making a small change doesn't screw up
the entire formatting job, tracking revisions so we can
edit the file related to the copy at hand, and tracking who
has been contacted when.

Ok. That last indicates why I'm looking at the general
reference. The first two should be addressable by a
reference on using a word processor, but a quick tour of
two bookstores suggests that all the word processor books
take the "press this button to accomplish this task". Right
- press this button to think ahead... </sarcasm>

IF I were looking at an O'Reily book for this subject - I
think the title would be something like "Hacking Your
Office", subtitled "Life tips from Anal Retentive Software
Developers" or something horrid like that.

The formal request I'm putting in front of the group is for
ideas or references relating to "thinking ahead" while
using a computer, tools, and tricks.

Maybe something like this should become a Linux How To -
How To Organize Linux Usage for Personal Productivity.

Maybe I should quite having ideas and write the damn
thing...

Any way. Thanks to the group for the use of their
bandwidth, and thanks for any clues in advance.
