I took some movies from my camera while landing a small airplane here in
Asheville recently and d/l'ed them to my Suse 10.2 x86_64 machine. It
turns out that the camera saves the movies in MP4 format, which Suse's
disti doesn't support. So I removed the xine and kaffeine related rpm's
and installed xine-ui, xine-lib and kaffeine from the latest source from
their respective web sites.

Kaffeine and xine both play the video correctly, however the audio is
off/on at a regular pattern - akin to a busy signal on the phone. About
1 second of audio, then 1 second of silence, and so on.

The same video (.mov file) plays correctly under WinXP running on VMWare
on the same machine.

Does anyone have a clue as to what might be wrong?

Thanks,
    - Chuck
