I don't think its a DRM thing.  I also don't think its a ploy to screw linux users.  I think they bought a tool and that is what it supports.  If there is enough of an outcry from the consumer then they will implement it in Linux.  I would love for people to email and ask for it.

Now that doesn't makes sense for CNN to do.  They gave up taking $$ for
non-DRM feeds, only to offer free feeds with DRM?   Is the tail wagging
the dog over there?
