As I stated in my earlier post, I prefer to use the Hitachi and Fujitsu drives.
Some people just want to buy WD, and that's OK if it's their personal choice. My personal laptop has a 160 GB SATA Hitachi drive in it. Since I couldn't get the Hitachi from the factory, I bought the drive separately, and pulled the OEM drive out and installed my Hitachi in it. I immediately loaded Ubuntu on it, and that's what I use now.
Lenovo X60s, 1GB RAM, 160 GB SATA drive, Ubuntu 7.04, ZERO problems.
