[ale] Q: getting /dev/net/tun for openVPN on RH-7.3

Thanks for the note. Checking manpages confirms the --mktun option, but my 
'openvpn' can't seem to deal with it:

$ openvpn --mktun --dev tun0 --config <my_config_file>
Sun Jul  1 07:43:09 2007 us=662248 Options error: options --mktun or 
--rmtun should only be used together with --dev
Sun Jul  1 07:43:09 2007 us=664306 Exiting

Can I create the 'tun' device in a separate step?

Do I also have to adjust the firewall ('ipchains' in this case)?
