I understand you are using Ubuntu, I have it on my laptop ( ok, Linux_Mint 
actually). But what I was trying to show was the kernel version, 2.6.18.2-34 
and SMP build on a DUO Core intel processor..

I'm a hardware idiot, no clue what that means ;(
is there some command in Linux to tell you the kind of processor ( other than 
just SMP) ?
I mean, I know what DELL supposedly shipped me BUT... I tried the sysinfo.zip 
shell script, but it doesn't tell me about processor or motherboard..
