[ale] firestarter & SUSE 10.2

I have firestarter installed and it works when I run it from a konsole, but
I'm having problems getting it to autostart.

I tried putting the file firestarter.init in /etc/rc.d but when I run it I get
2 errors. Seems like the file /etc/sysconfig/network isn't there, just the
directory. Here are the 2 errors and the lines associated with them:

./firestarter.init: line 19: .: /etc/sysconfig/network: is a directory
./firestarter.init: line 22: [: =: unary operator expected

18  # Source networking configuration
19  . /etc/sysconfig/network
20
21 # Check that networking is up.
22 [ ${NETWORKING} = "no" ] && exit 0

any ideas?
