Hi Paul,

I just replaced my wife's Inspiron keyboard.  It took all of five minutes start to finish.  *Very* easy.  Dell has the instructions in PDF format on their website.  In my wife's case, it was two screws under the battery and pry up on the "top strap" (my words) that contain the hinge covers.  My wife said, "Is that *all*?"  Yup.
