I'm trying to figure out why my DNS server appears to not forward them the way 
it forwards other addresses.

Closer examination shows that I get a list of 14 servers out of one of AT&Ts 
DNS servers, and no answer out of the other.  However, they both give 
something up for www.yahoo.com, so it's not like the one is completely dead.
