[ale] Newbie question.

You may have jumped to a different virtual terminal (by default Fedor
and others ship with 6 plus one for X)

If in X, get back to a console with <ctl><alt><F1> (or <F2>). If in
console and you've lost the X screen go back to X with <ctl><F7> (or
<F8>)
