[ale] External USB drive is detected as /dev/sda and /dev/sda1

I am starting to think that my issues have more to do with how the disk
is partitioned than anything. Since I am planning to use this disk for
backing up pictures from a windows box as well. I am thinking that I
should blow away all partitions and repartition and see how it goes.
