I want to calculate total bandwidth utilization across my home network. Is ntop the right tool for me? The only problem I see is where to place the box running ntop. At home I have cheap 100mb switches so I can't configure a port on any switch to grab all the packets. I need to place ntop at a location where it will see everything.
