[ale] WiFi Hotspot Oddity

Three different hotspots in Snellville, at least two of which are
T-Mobile, gave me this on interface start:

 * Starting eth1
 * Configuring wireless network for eth1
Warning: Driver for device eth1 has been compiled with version 19
of Wireless Extension, while this program supports up to version 17.
Some things may be broken...

 * eth1 connected to "ground round" at 00:0F:CC:3D:11:CC
 * in auto mode (WEP disabled)
 *   Bringing up eth1
 *     dhcp
 *       Running dhcpcd
...
[ ok ]
 *       eth1 received address 72.151.96.12

Even though I got a default router IP, I could not ping it, nor could I
get out to the Internet.

This does not happen when I camp out at the Panera Bread in Gwinnett
Place Mall. What is it referring to when it says "this program?"

Jeff
