[ale] [OT] Extending a wifi network

Hi folks,

I've got a wifi network set up in my house, but
I've had problems with signal quality, because
the wifi access point is in my office at one
end of the house (so it can be CAT5'd to the
firewall machine), and two of the other machines
on the wifi segment are on the opposite side of
the building. Only maybe 80ft away, but there's
quite a bit of junk in between.

So I bought a Linksys WAP-11 AP on eBay, intending
to get better coverage. The WAP-11 box works fine
when I use it in place of my original AP.
However, I'm not quite sure how to arrange for
the WAP-11 to act as a "slave" of my old AP.
Basically, I want the WAP-11 to sit on a shelf
more-or-less in the center of the house, and
relay traffic from the far-away machines to
the old AP.  Has anyone done something like
this?
