Oh boy, do I remember those! I had a '63 Chevy Impala SS 287 V8 bucket
seats with slushbox (2 speed auto in console). My engine mounts were
starting to wear so everytime I revved the engine it would hit the
distributor against the fire wall causing it to crack. Used to keep a
spare in the trunk. Chrysler did the same thing with the '69 - '72
Charger, so it put me in a good light with my girl friend's older
brother when his cracked and I got his car running by changing out the
distributor cap. By the way he later became my brother-in-law, after the
car thing he stopped hating me.
