[ale] Typing "i" in a gaim IM window

Hey Aaron,

I just installed the 1.5 version, again. And the problem still exists. I 
did check all the menu options/preferences, and I can't seem to figure 
out what's wrong. Probably some real silly thing that I keep missing. 
This obviously did not happen before yesterday.
