[ale] vmware ESX Server

VMWare ESX Server is an all in one distribution/Application based off 
RedHat. They have a special filesystem for the VM's that purportedly 
handles clustering and speed a lot better than any other filesystem, at 
the expense of any directory structure. It has been tuned for certain 
hardware and configurations and supports several advanced networking 
features that VMWare server ( free version of VMWare GSX server) does 
not support.
We currently run 3 VMWare servers for various development uses as that 
is the advisable uses for VMWare server according to the EULA and most 
of the forums. I have found that is a good system and runs fine on most 
Linux distributions with non RPM based Distro's needing a little 
tweaking. (Even slackware can run it with the only modification needed 
being the creation of the /etc/rc.d/init.d and /etc/rc.d/rc#.d directories)
