Just suppose for a minute that someone in China told me that "Bob" was
staying at your house.  Is it OK for me to come over 24/7 and knock on
your door to see if Bob is a valid occupant?

Granted, email ID, or rather lack thereof, is a problem these days, but
SMTP testing is almost as bad.
