Unfortunately yes.  Patrick (Volkerding) is staying true to the careful
and deliberate approach of adding new features.  Its something that
Slackware has always done.  The 2.4 kernel is rock solid, but it would
be nice to have some of the features in 2.6 installed on default, such
as FUSE and AoE.
