[ale] Strange issue with NIC after installation

the following info may help troubleshoot
/etc/modprobe.conf
lsmod |egrep -i "ethMod1|ethMod2"
ifconfig eth0|eth1
ifcfg-eth0
dmesg|egrep "eth0|eth1"
