The testing branch actually breaks more than the unstable branch. If
there is a major package that is broken in testing, it could take a
long time to get resolved. I don't like that. With unstable, the
package could be fixed the next day.
I like to have the latest and greatest versions of software on my
desktop machine. So I certainly wouldn't use Debian/stable on my
machine. But I also wouldn't run testing because of the lag time
between packages going into unstable and then to testing. In short, if
I run Debian on my desktop it will be Sid.
