[ale] GRUB issue on boot

Try booting from a rescue disk and chroot to the existing install.  Then 
run grub-install (/usr/sbin/grub-install on SuSe) to reinstall grub. 
Run 'man grub-install,' but it's pretty straightforward:

grub-install /dev/hda (your device may vary).
