[ale] help with a module I'm unable to compile with gcc ?

I'd attach the ./configure output, source or whatever's needed but I
guess attachments are not allowed, or at least those of any size, so if
you'll holler I'll send you whatever you want personally.

The module in question is part of a finite element method [FEM] suite
called...Elmer. I have compiled a good bit of it but am at a loss with
the error logs/messages. 

I consequently ran a regression testing suite on gcc and am even more
lost now  :-)  but I have that output also.
