[ale] IPW2200 poor reception

Just additional food for thought:  Any Dell Precision system can be purchased with RHEL 3 or 4 and not with Windows.  It is a nice option to make sure that you will have Linux compatible hardware.

Not running Red Hat at all; the laptop came with Windows, and I've loaded
Gentoo on it.  I'll look in to the power options; thanks for the lead.
