[ale] [OT] I have TV question

I took a look at the MythTV stuff a while back.  It looked real
interesting, but it also looked like it would take a lot of time to
decipher the docs and cram together all the components.
I've been considering replacing my TiVo when it gives up the ghost ( I
have the lifetime subscription on this box, good deal so far..) but I
was kind of waiting for it to get easier to implement.

On the same topic, there are a ton of great linux solutions out there
that with a little bit more readable instructions, would be great
advertisements for using linux.

I built my MythTV for fun and education. I've even made a couple of
bucks 
with the knowledge: http://iptv2.trinitycommunications.net for example.

(Fedora Core 4, IVTV 0.4.0 and VLC 0.8.4) 

But the real user is my girlfriend, she'll come home, and skim through
6 or more fashion/home decor shows in under 30 minutes. Priceless.
