[ale] Site traffic measurement

Is there a way to see approximately how much traffic a site receives
(daily, weekly, monthly)?  I remember long ago, there was a browser
plugin that did something pretty close.  You'd go to a site and it
would have 0-5 stars depending on how much traffic the site got.

What I'd like would be to put a site name in a form and have it say
15,000 hits since 1/1/05 or something close to that.  I can get my own
site stats, of course, but is it possible to see others (beyond the top
10 or 20 that Netcraft or others might put up)?
