True enough. The steady erosion of journalistic integrity has directly tracked
the erosion of FCC protections against media monopolies over the past 25
years. (The recent FCC rulings allowing the phone and cable monopolies to
completely shut down provider competition in high speed internet access
being the latest examples of corporate corruption.) Ever since Faux news set
up camp in the sewers, CNN has been sliding down to their level, abandoning
their high ground integrity to the pandering, puerile punditry of the ratings race.
With a few increasingly rare (and heavily attacked through the corporate media)
PBS exceptions, U.S. "Telvision journalism" has become a pathetic oxymoron.
