[ale] mkfs.vfat under Slackware

The bottom line at the top:  Can anyone tell me where I can find out how to 
get mkfs.vfat to work under Slackware?  Or just plain tell me how it is done?

I need to format vfat partitions under Slackware and I cannot "locate" 
mkfs.vfat on my system.  I have done a lot of Googling,  and I have not been 
able to find any information on the subject  .

Any help or suggestions will be appreciated.
